Given
the freezing temperatures and grey skies of the British winter, we
usually have a stock American cover for the Rider Of The Year/Gear
Guide issue, but after our trip to Abu Dhabi a few weeks ago, we were
left with so many great photos we had to release one before the feature
article in Issue 2.
The cover for the new 2010.1 issue was shot outside the Yas Marina Formula 1 circuit, with the fantastic
Yas Marina Hotel lighting up the sky in the backdrop. Aaron Rathy
charges the wake in the dark while Sim Bradley floats in another boat
in the harbour mouth to capture the image.

Royle was on hand for the photo shoot and made this little video edit
which shows you the work that goes into making a cover shot.

Californian wakeskater Reed Watson has shot and
edited his own wakeskate film over the past year, which is being
released for free part-by-part on AllianceWakeskate.com.
While filming 'Here It Is' Reed came over to Europe and visited
Wakestock and the Dirty South Crew, and here is the European section of
his film for you to enjoy.
Featuring riding from Kevin Calvez, Terry Hannam, Louis Floyd, Kevin
Calvez, Liam Smith, Will Bradley, Daniel Grant, Oli Woods and Reed
himself.

After all the fun an glamour of our first two days in
Abu Dhabi, the third day was reserved for doing press interviews to
promote the sport of Wakeboarding in the region as well as the upcoming
Wakestock Abu Dhabi event.
All the guys were on fire both on the water and in front of the
interview cameras and with newspaper covers and international coverage
they sure did their bit to promote the sport to a whole new market
