New Issue - 2010.1

The first issue of 2010 is available now in the shops, and in usual fashion we kick off with the 2009 Rider Of The Year Award, which this year goes to the insanely stylish Aussie, Chris O'Shea. Fresh off the back of this award, Garrett Cortese talk to him about his year which included filming for ReWritten, and helping make wrapped tricks 'cool' again.

The next regular feature for the winter issue is the Gear Guide. We've got hundreds of wakeboards, dozens of wakeskates, bindings, boats, wetsuits, vests and ropes for you to salivate over while picking what you want to add to your quiver for 2010. With more action photos than ever before in a Gear Guide, this is one catalogue you simply have to see.

Finally we have the finals of the Alliance Photography Contest which ran all through last year. We were overwhelmed with the amount of entries, and after half a day of going through the shortlist the judges finally came to an overall winner. To find out who is a new Senior Photographer for Alliance turn to page 80 where you can also see some of our favourite other images, including the best action and best scenic photo.

Of course there's the regular columns, news, big heads and girl page you know and love, and wrapping up the whole thing in a tidy hand-held bundle is a photo of Aaron Rathy shot in front of the Yas Marina Hotel on the amazing Yas Island in the United Arab Emirates.
