2009.3 Is Here
by Sim Bradley 02 / 07 / 2009
Get excited people, because we have reached the biggest week of the summer for British wakeboarding and wakeskating! Wakestock is just around the corner, it’s the British Nationals this weekend, and best of all, the brand new 2009.3 issue of Alliance Magazine is in the shops today!
In our most packed issue to date, we have some big features, big departments and big photos of big tricks. First up is the interview you’ve all been waiting to read, with none other than World Champion, freeride extraordinaire and our newest cover star, Mr. Nick Davies. We caught up with Nick while he was in Orlando getting some serious riding in ahead of the major contests this summer, and from freeriding with Sam Carne and the legendary Darin Shapiro, his already breathtaking way of riding a wakeboard is getting even better with every day that passes.
Next up is the story of what happened when ThinkTank stepped into the public domain. With a ten-page feature packed full to the brim with amazing photos from the event, you simply cannot miss this one.
On the behind the scenes theme, we head over to Claremont, Florida for an in-depth look at the making of the new Hyperlite team movie, Rewritten. This project is the first Hyperlite video in a long time, and with former team rider and Alliance Visual Experiences head-honcho, Keith Kipp directing and producing the film, it can be nothing less than spectacular. I’ve been privileged enough to see part of this movie already, and the production values, camera angles, rails and riding will almost literally blow your mind. Ahead of the films release later this month, Garrett Cortese sat down with some of the key members of the Hyperlite A-Team to get their thoughts on this groundbreaking wakeboard film.
On top of the main features, the departments area has a report on the FISE event in Montpellier, France, all the happenings from the first Alliance Photography Clinic Day and Box End Park, Sam Carne invites you to attend the first annual ‘Rashes’ cricket tournament between the Brits and Aussies, we profile the up and coming ripper, Jorge Gill and of course there is the usual beautiful celluloid that makes up our Framed section with some truly inspirational images, and a ton of other stuff to read and drool over in the 108-page book of fun.
2009.3 is available today at your local Pro Shop so stop arsing around on the internet and go get something interesting to read. See you all next week for the big 10th Birthday Wakestock!
